New Yarn on Cathy’s Needles

Transitions Shifting Hues by The Fibre Co., left and Mirasol Inka, right.

Cathy has started two projects with new yarn!

Transitions is a sport-weight color-changing yarn that creates a fabric with a subtle halo and gently shifting color segments. The shifting hues evoke nature scenes – dawn breaking over mountains, dusk settling on water, or auroras dancing across night skies. We love them all! A blend of alpaca and Peruvian Highland wool, each 100 gram cake contains 328 yards. Cathy’s cast on has a gorgeous texture that makes this yarn sing!

Mirasol Inka has a very unique iridescent sheen that must be seen in person to truly be appreciated. (Hint, hint!) A true super fine lace weight, its viscose and baby alpaca blend will create soft yet beautifully detailed shawls, sweaters, and accessories. 442 yards in each 75 gram ball. Dreaming of cooler temperatures like we are? Cathy is making a cowl in the lovely Chalcedony color, which brings to mind an elegant snow queen. It will be the perfect cold weather accessory.
